About the project
Enhance national energy security through accelerated deployment of solar and wind energy solutions. Implementation modality: NIM Type of support: Adaptation Subsector: early warning Use, impact and results: The GoI PTA Solar and Wind initiative is a transformative, inclusive, and strategic investment toward Bhutan’s green future. This DPR underscores the technical soundness, social necessity, and fi nancial prudence of each component activity. With Nu. 1.0 billion investment, the initiative will deliver tangible and lasting benefi ts across sectors and geographies. Each intervention has been carefully chosen to align with the 13th Five-Year Plan and Bhutan’s broader climate and development agenda. Project component/outputs: 1. Feasibility assessment of suitable solar technologies 2. EPC for Deployment of DERS in School Facilities 3. Supply and installation of 200 kW Solar DERS at College of Science and Technology, Rinchending, Chukha 4. Supply and installation of 235 kW Solar DERS at Jigme Namgyel Engineering College, Dewathang, Samdrup Jongkhar 5. Supply and installation of 150 kW Solar DERS at Jigme Wangchuk Power Training Institute, Gelephu Reference: DPR
