Guidance

Accessing GCF Fund

Accessing the Green Climate Fund involves a series of steps to develop, submit and implement climate projects. The guidance below explains each stage.

The GCF project cycle

The GCF project cycle runs from country programming to monitoring and evaluation. Bhutan's National Designated Authority supports proponents at every stage.

  1. Country programming

National priorities are set out in Bhutan's Country Work Programme.

  2. Concept note

An accredited entity prepares and submits a concept note with the NDA.

  3. Funding proposal

The full proposal is developed, reviewed and endorsed by the NDA.

  4. Board approval

The GCF Secretariat appraises the proposal for decision by the Board.

  5. Legal arrangements

The funded activity agreement is negotiated and signed.

  6. Implementation

The project is delivered, monitored and evaluated against its results.
